Tasting Notes: This is a lot of Pinot Noir at the price. Each year, winemaker Don Kautzner, who made 20 vinatges at pioneering Oregon Pinot producer Adelsheim for many years blends wine from different single vineyards to make this great value. The wine is all 100 % estate fruit. It is located on the southwest slope of the Chehalem Mountains, north west of Chehalem and Rex Hill Wineries. This is blue chip Oregon Pinot Country. Succulent black and red cherries on the nose with hints of smoke. Juicy pie cherries and raspberries pick up a blackberry base note, along with shades of mint and thyme towards the finish. The Fattoria has amazing ripeness considering it is only 12.5% alcohol. "A parfait of fresh and dried black cherries with exotic spices and mint chocolate notes. This is a full body wine with a broad silky texture that persists desirably on the palate and finishes with a lengthy burst of intense cherry fruit and cinnamon overtones." The wine drinks superbly young and will improve and can be enjoyed over the next six years
