Pale bright red core, but almost cloudy on an angle. The 2010 McCrone Pinot from Ken Wright may be the palest in color, but it may also be the most interesting wine from this terroir-driven producer. A high-toned, flowery nose is alive with aromas of orange marmalade, rhubarb, cranberry and stone. This wine is really alive. Tart fruit flavors emerge on the palate entry, with loads of minerality in the midpalate leading to a finish with admirable length and some delicious, fine tannins. Enjoy through 2015.
